July: Pop up of the Month, Boulud Sud

Published: 1 July 2016

From 1st July, Daniel Boulud’s acclaimed London restaurant, Bar Boulud, will transform into a sunny version of itself, Boulud Sud. During the two month residency, he will reveal a menu inspired by flavours of the Med, which is guaranteed to get you in the mood for summer.

Occupying the site of his permanent eatery at the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, the pop up has been inspired by the success of his less formal Mediterranean restaurant in New York, also named Boulud Sud.

From 1st July to the 31st August, the restaurant will serve up classic dishes from Spain, Italy, Greece and Turkey – including staples such as gambas al ajillo (prawns with garlic and chilli), spaghetti nero (calabrian chilli, cuttlefish and shaved bottarga), and harissa spiced lamb loin with aubergine and tzatziki.

Who needs a holiday? Not us.

Review: Taberna do Mercado

Forget celebrity behemoth Chiltern Firehouse, Nuno Mendes is proving his culinary worth, with the help Antonio Galapito, in the form of modest Portuguese restaurant Taberna do Mercado in Shoreditch.
